How would you like a television series about sleeze-buckets who lie, cheat, decieve, stab in the back and sleep around with their secretaries annd underling female help, all for the love of money, power and themselves? The series is called MAD MEN and concerns the above mentioned traits among early 1960's New York advertizing executives. They are men without morals, scruples, or common decency and yet commercials for the series laud MAD MEN as the finest thing since sliced bread and "Must See TV" .
So, these are the sort of folks that the vieweing public are supposed to admire and desire to emulate? In this observer's opinion, if shots suddenly rang out and EVERY CHARACTER IN MAD MEN FELL DEAD, who would there actually be to mourn for? Where would be the loss? Where the Hell has the direction of television gone? We may now have high definition, big screened televisions at our disposal, but when the content of what is being presented to us as entertainment mirrors the above mentioned television programming, I think its time to turn off the set and then go and read a book.

Thank God, we don´t have it here but it´s just a matter of time I guess. TV and Hollywood are just a cynical money machine to a large degree, I think. If sleezy TV series sell, then sleezy series it is...

I keep seeing ads about the television program NIP TUCK. Why would anyone want to waste their time watching yet another show about dirtbags? Has America's taste really gone to Hell in a handbasket?

Maybe if JLH's Alamo would of thrown in a couple of rape scenes maybe it would have appealed to the right crowd....(sarcasm)

Here's a couple of animated series that fit very well into this category: SOUTH PARK and FAMILY GUY. Since when was crudeness and vulgarity considered cute?
