Per "Mad" Mike Boldt, there's a new book by Lee Pfeiffer and Dave Worell on the Waynamo. Says Mike" It looks like it is going to be the best pictorial record of the Wayne film to come along." The book is limited to 1500 copies and comes autographed by the authors. At $110.00 though, plus postage, it may be out of the financial reach of some mighty willing would-be purchasers. Here is the cover shot. You can also pre-order it at : www.sundownentertainmentcompany.com Check www.cinemaretro.com in the near future for official announcements. Here is a photo of the back cover. I´ll wait for the regular edition (if there´ll ever be one). Nice book though! You can get a lot of Alamo books for $110...

It's a signed, limited edition of 1500, Seguin. When they're gone, they're gone.
I finally got my confirmation letter that my order has been received and have also been informed that the books will be ready for distribution sometime in November of this year. Can't wait.

I know. It´s a limited edition of 1500 copies. And I´ll admit that I´m tempted...

Sounds like an interesting book. I'm not saying I'm cheap, but at $110, it better be autographed by Davy himself!

Sadly, you're probably right, Seguin. For film lovers and Alamo buffs alike, this is a tragic loss. While we will always have our inky-dinky, small screen version to fall back upon, the blow-you-away experience of watching all those Mexican troops avalanching across mountain and plain in all their 70mm, widescreen glory is now probably lost to us forever. Good going, UA.

should have transferred it to dvd when they had the chance. UA still has the director's cut on Laser Disc and could easily transfer it to DVD. Why they have not done so, as of yet, is anyone's guess. The point here is though, we will none of us ever be able to see the film as it was intended to be viewed: on a monstrous, 70mm theatrical screen.

I got my full length version on video at "Shop-Ko" for $5.00 Good for you. I remember, back in the Nineties when the Director's Cut first came out, how I paid $18.00 for the 2 tape, box set--and at Costco, no less!

Back to the Waynamo book: Mike says that word is, it will be coming out sometime November. That's just around the corner, so I hope there are no delays. This book is going to have to be my Christmas present to myself.
