Talking of ebay. - Watch out for signed books! There´s lots of fake ones around! I´ve been following debates on the net about this problem on ebay. Books are either "flatsigned" (no dedication or date-just signed) or they are signed on a "bookplate" (signed on a sheet of paper). They can be loose or "tipped in" (glued to the book like the rest of the pages). Those are some of the terms used for signed books. But beware! They CAN be fake! Especially if it´s signed books by american presidents, I´ve noticed. That goes for famous writers etc. too!

The only Autographed items I buy on Ebay are ones that can be Officially Licensed by Steiner Sports (which handles all the Rangers items I buy).

Aerial view of San Antonio de Bejar, by Gary Zaboly. This work was used as the end sheets for Steve Harrigan's novel, GATES OF THE ALAMO. The original drawing is listed on eBay with a starting bid of $270.00, or BUY IT NOW for $300.00.

Nice view and i can just see the Alamo at the top of the sketch. Of course the original drawing is much clearer. It's just a bad scan. You know, I personally do not see how an artist can just go and sell his original works off. I'm not that great of an artist, but I would feel funny selling my stuff like that. I've given a number of paintings away, but never sold any.

Lots of detail=lots of money i reckon... Yeah, but Gary could just as easily make prints of the original, frame them and then sell them for $65.00 a pop, signed---and still retain his original artwork!

On ebay right now is 120mm resin figure of Lawrence Harvey as Col. Travis, just type in Lawrence Harvey. This is figure is one in a set of three which also includes , John Wayne as Crockett and Richard Widmark as Col. Bowie. these figures are hard to come by as the company, Mike French Models, stopped production some 10-12 years ago. luckly I was able to final get all three and they are now on display on my bookshelf. Good luck to all in your own quest to find Alamo collectables.

Nice. Do they come as a kit, or are they pre-painted?

The one advertised on e-bay looks like it's already assembled and painted.
I have the three figures Crockett, Bowie and Travis and they came boxed in parts that you needed to assemble then paint. I have assebled and primed them but have yet to paint them.
