Been here awhile Alex, just first visit to this thread! There have always been friendly folks in the South especially in the smaller cities and towns like here in Texas for example! ;D Neff you sound like your talking about the University of Texas/PC which some sissy PC groups/folks were trying to get rid of the statues of Albert Sydney Johnston and Robert E. We have a few Indian wars monuments as well as Gen Custer monuments. His sioux name was "Son of the morning star" and there is a still in use church called Morning star.

Alex thanks for the recent addition here! ;D You have an exstensive number of nice photos you took of these monuments! But tell me Alex have you ever met anybody that has taken alot of photo`s of Northern/Yankee monuments? ;D TED COLE....aka....Cole_blooded

But tell me Alex have you ever met anybody that has taken alot of photo`s of Northern/Yankee monuments? ;D TED COLE....aka....Cole_blooded To be honest NO they even attempted to start a Union monument thread on one of the Civil War Forums that I used to visit and guess what no one posted any makes you think doesn't it! Nef Referring to looking thin on old photographs I think the lenses they made for cameras in those days were much different to the modern ones! Greg I don't think the hair has changed much I never did have much!

I believe that carving was done by the same guy who did the Crazy Horse monument which is near Mt. Rushmore.

TED COLE....aka....Cole_blooded This is the viewing platform and its about a quarter of a mile to the base of the mountain. I use to walk up to the top of the mountain and every time I never passed anyone either going up or coming down!

This should be of interest to RebAl. Standing in the Central Park of Seguin, Texas is a monument to Seguin native Colonel John Ireland, CSA. The monument honors not only Colonel Ireland, but all of Texas' honored Confederate dead. Say, where is RebAl lately?
