Here is a "Death study" done on the famous photo of the Gettysburg sharpshooter. www.jamescgroves.com/henry/hcp1a.htmFrom what i read, i can't argue with his theory. An excellent read.

Devil's Den Devil's den after the battle The rock barricade was taken down and rebuilt sometime in between. I wonder how many times that was done.

The battle for Devils Den, the valley of death and the slaughter pen only lasted about 2 hours in the late afternoon on July 2 and looking at the pile rocks i don't think it was built by the confederates. That whole area was under Federal troop controll all day till about 4:00 pm when they where pushed out.
I would throw out a guess that the Federal troops piled the rocks.

Hey Mike. How's this for a phony, old-timy, out of focus, sepia-tone battle shot from last Saturday's battle of Bejar? I didn't mean for it to be out of focus, but when they fired off the cannon, the concussion made me jerk the camera.

Very good, when my wife sends me PhotoShop, i will be able to make it look more period like and when i continue the "At the Bijou" project i will be able to make the photos look more authentic.
Was that photo taken at the Alamo plaza?

Nope, Maverick Square, next to La Villitia, or a couple of blocks west of the Tower of the Americas.

Lewis Payne, Washington Naval yard about time of 21st birthday, 3 months before named as one of the Lincoln assassins. (If it's three months before, then why does he appear to be shackled, Ted?)

As far as I know this photograph was taken of him in April 1865 three month before he was hanged. The particular handcuffs were used on all the Lincoln consipators.

The engine House, John Brown's "fort" at Harper's Ferry. An old building in Baldwin Park, California that we used to pretend was the Engine House at Harper's Ferry when we were kids.
