Prominent Western historian and Alamusso frequenter, Phil Spangenberger, will once again be leading the Spirit Of The West Riders in the Rose Parade. Look for Phil and his riders as the 80th entry in the parade lineup.
Rose Parade regulars for I don't know how many years, Phil and the Spirit of The West Riders attempt to keep that spirit alive in a time when Westerns are not all that popular any more.
Mr. Spangenberger has worked on numerous Westerns (including TOMBSTONE and DEADWOOD) and documentaries, one of the most recent being Rudy Robbins' UNSOLVED MYSTERIES OF THE WEST pilot that was screened this past October 21st at the Raye Theater in Hondo, Texas.

hasnt he been on wild west tech a couple of times? Probably so. You can recognize Phil in the parade tomorrow by his snow white beard. As mentioned above, he attends most of Joe Musso's Alamusso gatherings and has a lot of good information to share about horses, guns, personalities, events and the Wild West in general.

Wow, I just noticed that my friend, Phil Martin, also rode with Phil Spangenberger in the Rose Parade today! Phil appeared as a soldado in the 1986 Sesquicentennial reenactment at Alamo Village in Brackettville. His amazing model of the Waynamo has also been featured in MILITARY MODELER Magazine.
