I just got this rare EP in the mail from Spain and it's pretty good. Frankie Avalon sings BALLAD OF THE ALAMO, GREEN LEAVES OF SUMMER, TENNESSEE BABE and HERE'S TO THE LADIES. Since Chill Wills' version of HERE'S TO THE LADIES was not included on the Columbia soundtrack of THE ALAMO, Frankie's version probably should've been. It would've given the album a top-ten single, at least.

In Frankie Avalon's version of BALLAD OF THE ALAMO, he changes the lyrics from "And the men came from Texas and from old Tennessee and they joined up with Travis just to fight for the right to be free" to "And the men came from Texas and from old Tennessee and with them came young Smitty, just to fight for the right to be free." ;D

I agree that they should have included his songs on the Alamo soundtrack album. Why have him in the movie if you don't use his talents.
