Well, I could tell you that ONE DOMINGO MORNING is the Alamo book, but then there would be a tad of bias in the statement. Just a tad, mind you! (Incidently, thanks for the kind plug, Rick.) ONE DOMINGO MORNING is a must read book because it gets in depth about something that is hardly ever discussed, and that is Travis' slave Joe.

In all seriousness, seguin, the best first-timer book is definately Jack Edmondson's wonderful THE ALAMO STORY. He takes the Walter Lord "you are there" approach and then runs with it, but with all updated Alamo information.

He takes the Walter Lord "you are there" approach and then runs with it, but with all updated Alamo information. That´s what I was looking for! THE Alamo book to start with! Thanks, Nef! I would also like to buy a copy of your book,One Domingo Morning, Nef. Free shipping sounds real good ( as long as the book is´nt more expensive than on Amazon, of course ;D )! I would like a signed dedication too, if possible. Do you accept PayPal?

Yes, I do accept Paypal, on eBay. There's a BUY IT NOW option of $13.95, but the opening bid is but $9.95. You can buy directly from me for $13.95 and I will waive postage and handling costs. (At any rate, I never charge more for overseas customers.) I also have a few copies over on Amazon. All books will be personalized to your specifications. (Geez, I sound like a commercial!)
Oh yeah and do get Jack's book. He's "John W. Smith", over on thealamofilm site. PM him there and then deal with him directly. That's what I'd do.
Hey davycrockett, isn't Jack a member here, also?

Ok Nef, I´ll order a copy from your Amazon account then, because I´m not a member of Ebay. I saw a copy of Jack´s book on Amazon. Only $3 plus shipping - used, but in good condition. But of course I would prefer a persanolized copy, even if the price is higher. I´ll see if I can get in contact with him at alanofilm site...

I just received de la Teja´s book on Seguin, "A Revolution Remembered - the memoirs and selected correspondence of Juan N. Seguin" from Amazon. The book contains de la Teja´s take on Seguin, "The Making Of A Tejano", as well as a reprint of Seguin´s memoirs first printed in 1858 and some of his correspondence with various Texans such as Houston, Lamar ond others. I have´nt read it yet but I´ve flipped through it many times and it seems like an interesting and exiting book to read. Has anyone here in the forum read it?

Recieved my copy of Mark`s book this morning from Amazon and let me tell you it`s hard to put down! Your eyes will absorb all the different angles inside/outside and such of the Alamo compound 1836! This would be an excellent addition to anyones Alamo/Texas history book collection! The back grounds look good, the water and layout of the terrain and there is alot of textures, shades and contrasts to behold! Nice big depictions! Mark you did a great job on this book with all the research, effort and patience put in it! If you don`t have this book or did not order it my advise is do so "you will not be disappointed, this is a must have! Best $26.37 I ever spent on a book! ;D ;D TED COLE....aka....Cole_blooded ;D
