"...I won't be wronged. I won't be insulted, and I won't be laid a hand on. I don't do these things to other people, and I require the same from them." J. B. Books

I saw this in the theater when it was first released and there was not a dry eye in the lobby when people began exiting. Many present had grown up with John Wayne and now, it was like saying goodbye to him. We were all well aware of the actual battle with cancer he was going through at the time.

Here's a little opinion question I have. We all know when J.B Books goes to the bar to meet Sweeney, Cobb, and Pulford, with the intention of not leaving the bar alive. So after he kills all three men, he remains relatively unharmed except for a wound in the arm. So he begins to walk out, and then the bartender finishes the job. But what happened if the bartender never came? Would Books had lived out the rest of his days and died of cancer or would someone else waiting outside intervened and finished the job? The possibilities are endless and I want to know your opinions.
