STARR, RICHARD (1811-1836). Richard Starr, Alamo defender, was born in England in 1811. He traveled to Texas as a member of Capt. Thomas H. Breece'sqv company of New Orleans Greys,qv took part in the siege of Bexar,qv and later served in the Alamo garrison as a member of Capt. William Blazeby'sqv infantry company. Starr died in the battle of the Alamoqv on March 6, 1836.
