PARKS, WILLIAM (1805-1836). William Parks, Alamo defender, son of Jonathan and Catherine (Turner) Parks, was born in Rowan County, North Carolina, in 1805. In 1836 he was a resident of Austin's colony, in Texas. He took part in the siege of Bexar and later served in the Alamo garrison as a member of Capt. Robert White's infantry company, the Bexar Guards. Parks died in the battle of the Alamoqv on March 6, 1836.
