This section will be a work in progress but over the course of the next couple of days I hope to have the biography of every single Alamo defender listed here in a nice and neat order. The Alamo Film site also has this and I think it is a great idea. Bios brought to us by the Texas Handbook Online.

that looks like a mighty tall order there Greg..... If everybody pitches in to add a little, here and there, it won't be so bad. Anyhow, it should bring us all a little closer to the Alamo defenders as people, rather than as just names on a roster of the honoured dead.

It should take a couple of days. I will be responsible for posting the bios, the rest of you please chip in with any stories you have like Nef has done to a few of them...

With about a hundred bios or so left, I'll finish the rest over the course of tomorrow and the next day.
All I ask as that you take the time to read the bios of some of the lesser known of the Alamo heroes. They are all equal here.

While adding these bios and reading through them it is then when one realizes, these were not battle-hardened war veterans, not even men, but boys. IF this were today's world, some would be young enough to be fresh out of college, which is a scary thought.

Is the Texas Hanbook the only source your using? The young men in those days are a whole lot different than young men today because it was a different time, they did`nt have ACs,TVs,VCRs,DVDs,Cell phones,Computers,Computer games,Video games,Camera`s/Video/Digital camcorders, Fast food and these young men were not fat or chubby as alot of the population these days! No cars/trucks/motorcycles,No Electricity,no running water,no medicine and such like we have today and the majority if not all these young men and such worked their butts off bigtime, etc, etc! These guys were tougher given the time and circumstances involved! Also consider the weapons used then compare to the present day! I will add more on some of the names! I have brought up other names and such on the Alamo film world site but the majority of folks all wanted to discuss Crockett, some Bowie, some Houston and some Travis! Nothing wrong with that and I have said several times on the other site they were all heroes! ;D In this the state of Texas, you bet they`re heroes! TED COLE....aka....Cole_blooded

My cousin spent a lot of money & time on a family history and informed me that we are related to Dolphin Floyd. There's a small town here in Texas named for him, Floydada. Poor guy got killed on his birthday.
