for the alamo dvd what is the best version to get for a 20 inch tv? fullscreen or widescreen?

It's just a matter of preference. With wide screen, you will have a much smaller picture, of course, but all the film's image will be there. With full screen, it will be like getting an amputated view of the film. If a man is shown waving his arms straigt out on each side on the widescreen version, for instance, on the full screen version, you will just be able to see his torso; his arms will be cut out of the picture.
And how would Laurence Harvey be able to do his "Front rank, ready! Fire!" without his arms being seen?
