Movie sets aside, there are quite a few buildings around Texas, the USA and the world that resemble the famous shrine in San Antonio, Texas. This thread is dedicated to those.

Late afternoon sun shines upon the facade of the St. Anthony of Padua church in Alamo Heights, outside of San Antonio. The church was built in 1957.

Nice detail work around the columns. The church is in Alamo Heights, about 7.5 miles from Alamo Plaza. Take Broadway north to Nottingham, turn left and then follow the street as it curves to the right onto Peter Basque. Church and grounds will be to your right.

Beautiful shots, Ned. Definitely worth framing.
Would you be willing to send me a hi-rez version or two (hint, hint)?

Thanks, Rick. Consider it done. Here's some photos I took back in 1976 of an Alamo replica in San Gabriel, CA. Attachments:

The building was originally a wedding garden and reception area before it was converted into a residence. Attachments:

In 1986 some careless and clueless owners built an apartment building in front of the replica, all but blocking the beautiful Alamo facade. Attachments:

Had the apartment builders used just a bit of imagination, they could have merely positioned the apartment building a few feet over, leaving the facade to be enjoyed by passersby and making the complex a showplace. but noooooooooo. Attachments:
