I am new to this and I am trying to find a couple things. No. 1, when I was a kid I remember friends of mine would visit Alamo Village and come back with an Alamo Movie Souvenir Book. Are there any copies still around? Also. about 10 years ago, the book John Wayne's Alamo was written, but now it is out of print. Anyone know how I can get a copy of that, or do you know of any other books of interest out there about Alamo Village?

There is a book about Alamo Village written By John Farkis, that may be the one you are refferring too. As for the other questions, Neferetus will be able to help you better.

I think ptactor is talking abou the Clark/Anderson book "THE ALAMO", The Story Behing John Wayne's Epic Film". Yes, it is out of print, but there's currently a bidding war going on over a copy of it, over on eBay.
The John Farkis book about Alamo Village came out in October, 2005. It is a good'un. If you are interested, I will pass your request on to John.

Well, at least it shows that there is an interest in Alamo out there and that the info on this site is usefull. Now and then one of the guests will also become a member like I did...

Well, It´s only a small group of people who are Alamo buffs. Most people are only interested up to a point. That probably goes for most guests but once in a while somebody will swallow the "bait"...

But we should get even the non-alamo buffs due to our large off-topic section.

Right! Our off-topic section sure is an asset! I don´t think people come here because of our off-topic section, but it will help people to stay if they´re not all that much into the Alamo. It´s a good sign with all those guests! If they keep coming like that, some of them are bound to stay...

I try to advertise on the Rangers sites I'm on but they get deleted. Our newest member "25 Alive" is from a Rangers board.
